Relief halftone prints of Andrew F. Ottman, a resident of Trimbelle, Wisconsin who served in Company A, 12th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The two images are of Ottman; one as a young soldier wearing a pork pie hat and uniform; the other as an elderly man wearing a suit with a GAR pin on his lapel. Originally from New York, Ottman moved to Wisconsin some time before enlisting in 1861. He was wounded during the Atlanta Campaign (1864) and transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps shortly before mustering out in 1865. After the war, Ottman moved to Edmunds County, South Dakota before settling in Ellsworth,Wisconsin.
